The Night Manager loses to drops of God at Emmys

International Emmy Awards: Anil Kapoor's The Night Manager falls to drops of God

Anil Kapoor’s Indian adaptation of The Night Manager, nominated for Best Drama Series at the 2024 International Emmy Awards, couldn’t secure the award. The French-American-Japanese series Les Gouttes de Dieu (Drops of God) was announced as the winner in this category.

The International Emmy Awards shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), posting:
“The International Emmy for Drama Series goes to Les Gouttes de Dieu (Drops of God) produced by Legendary Entertainment / Les Productions Dynamic / 22H22 / Adline Entertainment / France Télévisions / Hulu Japan.” The post also featured a promotional poster for the winning series.

The Night Manager's journey at the Emmys

The Indian version of The Night Manager was the sole representation from India at this year’s International Emmy Awards. It competed against Drops of God, The Newsreader – Season 2 from Australia, and Iosi, El Espía Arrepentido – Season 2 (Yosi, the Regretful Spy) from Argentina.

Directed by Sandeep Modi and Priyanka Ghose, The Night Manager starred a stellar cast, including Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sobhita Dhulipala. The series is an adaptation of John le Carré’s novel and its earlier British TV version featuring Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, and Olivia Colman.

The team of The Night Manager attended the Emmy ceremony in classic black suits, representing India at one of the most prestigious global platforms for television content.
